Arsicault Bakery first opened in 2016 in the Richmond district (397 Arguello) by owner Armando Lacayo. An interesting tidbit about the history of the name is that Armando Lacayo named it after his great-grandparents who lived in the outskirts of Paris.

Shortly after opening the bakery at 397 Arguello, the bakery grew in fame for their delicious baked goods and even gaining national accolade, being ranked as the top 5 croissants in the US by Yelp and Bon Appétit crowning the bakery as the “Bakery of the Year” in 2016 for their flaky croissants.

The location opens at 8am at Mission Rock. There is plenty of paid parking in the general vicinity. An added benefit is the small tables and benches – this way you have a place to enjoy your baked good (and drink). Most people line up before the bakery even opens so they can have first pick. For those visiting the ballpark, they generally order a bunch of baked goods (and sandwiches) to pack before entering the overpriced stadium.

Closing Remarks for Arsicault

I encourage everyone to stop by Arsicault to try out their croissant and maybe a sandwich. I normally select the Parisian along with a Ham & Cheese Croissant.

Check out other food locations I’ve been to here.
