The Drone Art Show is hosted by Fever, Cow Palace hosting a large venue for its paying guests. The Cow Palace is an event center on the border of Daly City and San Francisco with a history of hosting concerts, conventions, and sports events. An interesting anecdote was that the Cow Palace The Beatles’ 1964 North American tour. It was the first show of the group’s 1964 summer tour of the United States and Canada.
The Drone Art Show is a breathtaking candlelit outdoor concert where a live string quartet performs classical masterpieces as hundreds of drones illuminate the night sky. The drones create stunning visuals—shapes, patterns, and movements—that shift in harmony with the music, transforming the atmosphere into a dazzling fusion of art and technology. It feels like sitting beneath a moving canvas of light while listening to timeless compositions.
For those planning to attend, parking logistics are worth noting. Advance parking passes cost $26.92, but on the day of the event, the price increases to $30. To save money, I highly recommend purchasing your pass early and carpooling with friends. The lot opens at 6:30 pm, giving guests time to settle in before the show officially begins at 8:30 pm.
One area that left much to be desired, however, was the food and beverage situation. While organizers advertised that food and drinks would be available, the selection was sparse and poorly managed. There were more tents dedicated to alcohol and standard beverages than to food, and it seemed the caterers hadn’t fully considered the chilly Bay Area weather or the needs of their audience.
Hot food items like hot dogs and bratwursts were gone by 7:30 pm, popcorn supplies were nearly depleted, and the pretzels available were extremely hard. Even more frustrating, the only hot beverage offered was coffee—which felt limiting given the 50°F temperatures, fog, and occasional wind. To add to the challenges, the credit card machines repeatedly glitched, requiring multiple attempts to process payments.
Despite these drawbacks, the concert itself was unforgettable. The string quartet performed beautifully, and hearing Vivaldi’s Four Seasons—one of my favorite works—was a highlight of the evening. Later in the program, the addition of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake was equally moving, filling the foggy night air with elegance and drama. The pairing of live classical music with the orchestrated drone performance made for a mesmerizing artistic experience.
While I hope future events improve their food, drink, and guest services, the artistry of the Drone Art Show itself was remarkable. It’s a performance that lingers in your memory long after the lights fade from the sky.
Closing Remarks for the Drone Art Show at the Cow Palace
the Drone Art Show at the Cow Palace was a memorable experience that I would gladly attend again. My hope is that if the event returns in the future, the organizers rethink the food and drink situation—opening the venue to food trucks would be a fantastic way to provide variety, quality, and convenience for guests. The real heart of the night was in the sky and on stage: the breathtaking drone displays convinced me that I now prefer them over traditional fireworks, and the live string quartet performance elevated the entire evening with its beauty and power. Together, they created a one-of-a-kind blend of technology and artistry that I won’t soon forget.
