Katy Perry held her Lifetimes Tour at the Chase Center on July 18, 2025.
The venue was scheduled to open at 6:30 PM PST, giving us plenty of time to find our seats and get ready for the show to start at 7:00 PM. However, there was a significant delay that pushed things back. Rebecca Black finally took the stage around 8:00 PM for her 30-minute opening set, but after she finished, we had to wait another half hour before Katy Perry appeared. While the exact cause wasn’t fully explained, it was hinted that technical difficulties were to blame.
Judging by Rebecca Black’s performance that night, it seemed likely there were audio issues. Her vocals didn’t sound as strong or polished as I’d heard in other Lifetime Concert videos. In those clips, she performed confidently and on beat, but at the Chase Center, the audience was noticeably out of sync with her music. It felt a bit awkward, and I found myself feeling sorry for her given the muted crowd reaction.
When Katy Perry finally appeared around 9:00 PM, the crowd went wild. The performances were spectacular and memorable, favorite songs played throughout the evening such as “Teenage Dreams”, “Dark Horse”, “I Kissed a Girl”, “Roar”, and “Firework”. I spent most of my time on my feet, jumping and singing, clapping, and shouting for more.
Katy Perry Minor Incident During ROAR Performance
Near the end of the performance, Katy Perry took center stage in a spectacular and daring moment as she rode a giant butterfly that floated above the crowd. Securely harnessed to the mount, she glided smoothly through the venue, captivating everyone below.
However, as she made her way between Sections 110 and 111, something unexpected happened—the supporting wires suddenly twisted, causing the butterfly to wobble. Katy was visibly startled, her body tilting slightly as she instinctively tried to regain balance. For a brief moment, the audience held their breath. But true to her reputation as a consummate performer, Katy quickly composed herself, steadied the butterfly, and continued her flight with remarkable poise.
She safely made her way back to the stage, undeterred by the scare, and went on to deliver the rest of the show with the same energy and enthusiasm that had defined the entire evening. Her resilience and professionalism in the face of a near mishap only added to the unforgettable nature of the concert.
Katy Perry Lifetimes Tour Closing Remark
Despite the unexpected delays, the Lifetimes Tour was absolutely worth attending. There’s something truly magical about being surrounded by a sea of fellow fans, all singing along, dancing, and sharing the same excitement—an energy that simply can’t be replicated through a Spotify playlist at home. One of the most memorable highlights for me was when Katy Perry invited fans on stage to sing “The One That Got Away”. It wasn’t just a fun, spontaneous moment—it was heartfelt and personal, especially when she helped one fan choose a name for her unborn daughter. Lily, by the way, is the lucky baby’s name, and it’s a moment I’m sure that fan (and all of us watching) will never forget.
If you ever get the chance to attend a live tour concert, I wholeheartedly recommend it. It’s not just a show—it’s a full experience that leaves you buzzing with joy long after the lights go out. As for me, this concert reignited my love for live music. I’m already thinking about who I’d love to see next.
