Fuwa Dumpling is a small restaurant located in the Outer Richmond of San Francisco. There are plenty of street parking available, and luckily this allows free parking after 6pm! For those who enjoy boba, it’s also located on the same block as Purple Kow.
The restaurant itself has a lot of tables to seat couples, groups, big or small. The menu itself hosts a slew of items, but what surprised me is how affordable the prices are. For example, there is 14 pieces of boiled dumplings between $13.99 – $14.99! There is also an option of dumplings in soup form for 12 pieces at $13 – 14.99.

Chives Pancake
Cost: $11.99
I’m used to having chives pancake in the korean style – round, crunchy, and piping hot. But I wanted to try it, and it’s still hot and crunchy…just not round. The inside still has onions and chives, but I felt like it was missing something.

Chicken and Mushroom Dumpling
Cost: $13.99
These were pretty good. They’re handmade, fresh, and comes in a good chunk of 14 pieces (boiled). Next time I’ll definitely order the soup form to see what the difference is. Definitely eat this with at least one other person who is equally hungry to be able to finish it all!

Shanghai Steamed Xiao Long Bao
Cost: $14.99
This came in 8 pieces of pork xiao long bao. They were pretty good, but the downside is that the server forgot to provide spoons for the “soup” dumplings.

Overall, the prices are decent and the server was pretty nice. They don’t rush you out the door after delivering your food, so it’s a plus! The only catch is finding parking in San Francisco as it’s always a constant struggle. Timing is everything when finding a parking spot.
Check this place out – I enjoyed the Mushroom and Chicken Dumpling the most and willing to try other dumplings in the future.
